Luminapearl Project

Patented pearl and mother-of-pearl traceability technology

Luminapearl Project

A Major Innovation

The Luminapearl project resulted in the development of a patented technology enabling secure identification of pearls and mother-of-pearl.

Technology Features:

  • Invisible and permanent marker
  • Insertion within the material itself
  • Does not alter the appearance of pearls
  • Preserves gemological properties
  • Secure and traceable identification

This technological advance represents a major guarantee for the authenticity and traceability of pearls in global commerce.

Mediterranean Coral Traceability (CTM)

Extension of Luminapearl technology to Mediterranean coral

CTM Coral Project

An Ethical and Environmental Challenge

Pursuing the advances of the Luminapearl project, the laboratory initiated the Mediterranean Coral Traceability (CTM) program.

This project aims to apply and adapt this traceability technology to coral, a precious material and heavily exposed to ethical and environmental challenges.

Ongoing Developments:

  • Adaptation of marking technology to coral
  • Development of specific reader (finalization in progress)
  • Rapid and non-destructive identification
  • Guarantee of origin and legality
  • Protection of Mediterranean species

🌊 Environmental Commitment

The CTM project is part of a commitment to protect Mediterranean marine ecosystems and fight against illegal coral trade.
